In House Laboratory

Because we have our own in-house laboratory machines, we do not have to send samples away. This means we are able offer a wide range of medical tests with prompt results.

Carrying out many of our lab tests ourselves means that we can use the results promptly to start the right treatment for your pet’s medical problems.

We have a modern X-ray facility, as well as training and experience in specialised X-ray techniques such as spinal myelography, usually only offered in referral centres.

A myelogram is an X-ray taken after dye has been injected into the patient, enabling us to see more detail. In spinal investigations this enables us to see more detail and to diagnose harder to spot conditions.

In addition to our X-ray facilities and Dr Joshua Rusnak’s expertise in radiological techniques and interpretation, we are able to offer diagnostic ultrasound. Ultrasonography allows the internal structures of organs to be clearly visualised, whereas X-rays may only outline the shape of these organs.

Our vets are then also able to take biopsies and samples from internal organs, guided by ultrasound. As most animals require only sedation, and not full general anaesthesia to undergo these procedures, we are frequently able to fully investigate internal organs with minimal stress and risk to your pet, allowing them to go home the same day.
